New Seaway Billing Process

Following our October 26, 2016 communiqué, the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) advises all users that it has now implemented a new process for billing and pre-clearance to make the submission of transit declaration data easier for our customers.

With the opening of the 2017 navigation season, all pre-clearance and transit declaration forms must now be completed and submitted to the SLSMC’s billing department using the online forms available on our E-Business site:

All users who have not yet registered to our E-Business site may do so by completing the online User Registration form.

This new electronic process is now mandatory with the opening of the 2017 navigation season, including the use of Harmonized System Code (HS Code) to identify cargoes and United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations for ports.

The new forms are very similar to our previous forms, however, they are online and once completed, they are simply submitted to the SLSMC.  The site provides short How-to instructions on how to use the new forms.
