Infrastructure Maintenance
Each year, the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation invests millions of dollars in the maintenance and operation of its infrastructure in Quebec and Ontario. These recurring investments contribute to the economic vitality of our communities while also ensuring the Seaway system remains safe, reliable and efficient well into the future.

Montreal – Lake Ontario Section
Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague Bridge
Location: Valleyfield, Quebec
Closure Dates: January 10, 2026 to January 30, 2026

Project Type: Bridge closure for electrical cable replacement and lift system adjustments
Closure Details:
- Complete road closure, both lanes
- Closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic
- Closure begins: January 10, 2026
- Reopens: January 31, 2026
Work Summary:
Work will include the replacement of the bridge's main power and communication cables, upgrades to the bridge control system and balancing of the bridge's steel cables.

Additional Details:
Access to the parking area at the Beauharnois Salaberry Regional Park, located on Pie XII Boulevard, will not be permitted from January 5 to March 6, 2026, for safety reasons.
