Lockage Schedule

Please note that the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation will no longer accept cash, and the automatic ticket dispensers located on the pleasure craft docks next to the locks will not be available for the 2020 navigation season. The rights of way payment for Iroquois Lock and the Welland Canal must be made via the Secunik app on a smartphone.  For lockages at Saint-Lambert, Côte Sainte-Catherine and Beauharnois locks, reservation and payment must be made via the new on-line pleasure craft lockage reservation system.

There are no changes for payment at US locks.

Lockage Schedule for Pleasure Craft (Welland Canal)

Effective June 15th 2020, the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation is continuing to utilize the pleasure craft schedule first introduced in 2019 for transits through the Welland Canal.

The service offering will be based upon the following schedule until 01 November 2020:

Upbound Transits – from Port Weller to Port Colborne

Transits are available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

On the day of transit, pleasure crafts must be in position at the Port Weller small boat dock with Secunik payment confirmed and registration completed with the Seaway’s Operations Control Centre by 9:00 a.m. The number to call is 289-690-4344.

**Pleasure crafts registered after the 9:00 a.m. cut off time will not transit until the next scheduled operating day.**

 Downbound Transits – from Port Colborne to Port Weller

Transits are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

On the day of transit, pleasure crafts must be in position at the Port Colborne small boat dock with Secunik payment confirmed and registration completed with the Seaway’s Operations Control Centre by 7:00 a.m. The number to call is 289-690-4344.

**Pleasure crafts registered after the 7:00 a.m. cut off time will not transit until the next scheduled operating day.**

During transits, pleasure crafts are to communicate with the Operations Control Center (OCC), utilizing Seaway working frequency Channel 14 (unless otherwise instructed by the OCC).

 

Lockage Schedule for Pleasure Craft (Montreal / Lake Ontario)

US Snell and Eisenhower Locks / Iroquois Lock (Ontario)

For the U.S. Snell and Eisenhower locks, as well as for the Iroquois lock in Ontario, there will be no preset lockage schedules for pleasure craft.

Saint-Lambert, Côte Sainte-Catherine and Beauharnois locks

A reservation system is in effect for the Saint-Lambert, Côte Sainte-Catherine and Beauharnois locks.

The following are the lockage dates available for pleasure craft after September 6, 2020.

September 7 – October 12, 2020  09:00 am to 08:00 pm
October 17-18, 2020 09:00 am to 05:00 pm
October 24-25, 2020 09:00 am to 05:00 pm

There will be one upbound and downbound lockage in the morning and one upbound and downbound lockage in the afternoon at each lock.  The availability is limited.  In order to ensure a passage through the lock, pleasure craft users are required to make a reservation on-line.  (Please note:  The reservation desk will not be operational for reservations after September 6, 2020).

  1. Make an on-line pleasure craft lockage reservation
  2. On the day of transit, consult the lockage schedule to determine lockage times for that day (Lockage information is updated daily at approximately 7:30 a.m.)
