St. Lawrence Seaway Wharfage and Storage Charges

January 4, 2012

The St. Lawrence Seaway Wharfage and Storage Charges have been revised for the 2012 navigation season.

We are pleased to advise there is no general rate increase in the revised tariff, for the upcoming navigation season.

In order to align our Wharfage and Storage Tariff with our Tariff of Tolls a definition has been added for domestic cargo and the definition for bulk cargo was modified to include domestic cargo, within our Wharfage and Storage Tariff.  As a result domestic cargo will now be charged the bulk rate for top wharfage, which aligns our Wharfage and Storage Charges with our Tariff of Tolls.

A new Item was added to introduce the requirement for users to submit to the SLSMC an official document certifying the cargo tonnage on which top wharfage will be levied.

The period for Lying-up Charges was reduced from 30 days to 10 days and adjustments were made to clarify that applicable minimum charges are per the defined period.

The 2011 Tariff was filed with the Canadian Transportation Agency on December 7, 2011.  For administrative purposes, it will be effective January 1st, 2012.

The revised Tariff is available on our Web site here.
